The Ciaz scored 14.56 points out of maximum 16.00 points in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) assessment. It passed in the side impact test also, but scored very poorly in the Child Occupant Protection (COP) assessment.

The Suzuki Ciaz tested by ASEAN NCAP was equipped with only two airbags and driver Seat belt Reminder System (SBR); it wasn’t equipped with an Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system. The Ciaz had only 37% compliance with the COP assessment standards and was given 2-star rating out of the maximum 5-star rating.

The Suzuki Ciaz tested by ASEAN NCAP would understandably be the ASEAN-spec version sourced from the Rayong plant in Thailand as that plant is the one which exports the Suzuki Ciaz to ASEAN countries. The safety features offered in the Indian version, which is manufactured and sold by Maruti Suzuki, include dual-front airbags, ABS, Seat belt Reminder System (SBR) for the driver seat and seat belt pre tensioner & force limiters.
