One of the Kwid-based products in the pipeline.
Autopista has created a rendering of what appears to be an SUV version of the Renault Kwid which, as it turns out, is in Renault India's pipeline.
Codenamed Renault HBC, it is reported to be based on an evolution of the CMF-A platform (CMF-A+), which can accommodate bigger bodystyles and engines. Technical details on the Kwid-based SUV are scarce, but expect petrol and diesel variants in the offering.
Although the Kwid is marketed as an urban crossover with a tall ground clearance and rugged features, the SUV is expected to be bigger, taller and feature a slightly more distinctive design. It will slot between the Renault Kwid and Duster, and rival sub-4m SUVs like the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport, and the forthcoming Tata Nexon.

Ahead of the Kwid-based SUV, reports suggest that Renault is working on a sub-4m sedan which will be based on the CMF-A platform. It could launch in the market within the next two years, and widen Renault's entry level product lineup.
