Maruti Vitara Brezza is the best selling SUV in India in May.
From the sales figures of May 2016, it appears that the Maruti Vitara Brezza has outpaced the Hyundai Creta by 136 units. 7193 and 7057 units of the Vitara Brezza and Creta respectively, were sold last month. Between 4,000-4,500 units of the KUV100, Bolero and Scorpio each were dispatched last month, while Ford sold a little over 3,000 units of the EcoSport.
In April 2016, the Hyundai Creta managed to keep its lead, despite the looming threat from the Vitara Brezza in the SUV segment, as the gap was only 68 units. With over 70,000 reservations received in three months since bookings opened, the Vitara Brezza can continue to outpace the Hyundai Creta every month, if Maruti can increase the production capacity to meet the overwhelming demand.
The Brezza is shaping up to be MSIL's torchbearer for 2016, alongside the Maruti Baleno. Both models accounted for 15 percent of overall sales last month. The sub-4m SUV contributed to a 144.2 percent growth in Maruti's range of utility vehicles compared to May 2015.

Excluding the Mahindra KUV100, the Maruti Vitara Brezza is the least expensive compact SUV in the Indian market. Also supplementing the Vitara Brezza's appeal is the tough SUV bodystyle, an attractive equipment list in top-end grades and Maruti’s presence in the Indian market.
