Further adding stress to that is the stoppage of production at both its plants in Gurgaon and Manesar, due to a fire at a supplier’s factory, affecting the supply of components (in this case, an AC compressor).

However, sales of models in the entry level mini hatchback range, such as Maruti Alto and Wagon R, dipped by 5.6 percent to 33,105 units from the 35,062 units sold in May 2015. One of Maruti's best sellers, the Maruti Swift, is also experiencing dwindling demand in the market.
