The Toyota Innova Crysta was formally launched for sale on May 13, 2016 at prices between INR 13.84 Lakhs to INR 20.78 Lakhs (ex-showroom Mumbai). Here is a gallery from its launch, offering a closer look at the second generation Toyota Innova.
The top-end Toyota Innova Crysta ZX will be the most feature-packed MPV in the market as it comes equipped with a smart entry system, start/stop button, seven airbags as standard along with ABS, EBD and BA, automatic climate control, 7-inch audio system with navigation, wood trim on steering wheel, automatic LED headlamps and 17-inch alloy wheels. All variants have the option of a 7-seat arrangement with captain seats in the middle row or a conventional 8-seater option.
The Innova Crysta has grown in size as compared to the outgoing model. It measures 4,735 mm long, 1,830 mm wide and 1,795 mm tall, and has a wheelbase of 2,750 mm. Although the wheelbase is identical, the Innova Crysta is 150 mm longer, 70 mm wider and 35 mm higher than the first gen Toyota Innova. The increase in size is attributed to better crash protection and interior space.
The 5-speed manual gearbox variant has a 2.4L GD diesel engine that produces 149 PS & 343 Nm of torque, while the 6-speed automatic variant gets a 2.8L GD diesel engine with 174 PS & 360 Nm of torque. The 2.4 MT and 2.8 AT are capable of averaging a fuel consumption of 15.10 km/L and 14.29 km/L respectively (ARAI certified).
