The Tata Tiago was launched on April 6 with prices ranging from INR 3.2-4.75 lakhs for petrol and INR 3.94-5.54 lakhs for diesel, ex-Showroom, New Delhi. In its first month of sale, Tata has sold 3,022 units of the hatchback, making the Tiago the best selling product for the company.

Owing to its aggressive pricing, the Tiago received over 100,000 enquiries last month, an encouraging sign for the Indian manufacturer which saw April 2016 sales grow 2.2 percent over the same month last year. However, according to Tata’s VP of Sales and Network, SN Barman, the prices of the Tiago are only introductory and are likely to be increased soon.
The Tiago is offered with Tata's all-new 1.2-liter three-cylinder all-aluminium Revotron petrol engine and the 1.05-liter three-cylinder Revotorq diesel engine. Both engines are available only with a 5-speed manual gearbox, though an AMT is expected to be introduced later in the lifecycle.
