AT range on XUV500 now extends to four variants.
The Mahindra XUV500 W6 AT has been launched at INR 14.29 lakhs, ex-Showroom, Mumbai. As the name suggests, the XUV500 W6 AT is the entry-level variant with the automatic transmission which aims to steal some market share from compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta and the Renault Duster.
The automatic transmission was launched on the XUV500 back in November 2015. It was introduced in three variants - W8 FWD (INR 15.87 lakhs), W10 FWD (INR 16.73 lakhs) and W10 AWD (INR 17.8 lakhs). The W6, which comes only in FWD layout, is INR 1.58 lakhs cheaper than the W8 AT and targets the Hyundai Creta 1.6 CRDi SX+ AT (INR 15.2 lakhs) and the Renault Duster 1.5 RxZ AMT (INR 13.14 lakhs).
The XUV500 W6 AT offers a 2.2-liter mHawk diesel engine developing 140 bhp and 330 Nm of torque, paired to an Aisin-made 6-speed torque converter. The fuel efficiency is expected to be 13.85 km/l.
