Expected to offer AMT and MT options.
Overdrive reports that the more powerful Mahindra TUV300 mHawk100 will launch on May 12, 2016. The variant addition comes on the back of customer feedback that the TUV300's 84 bhp engine makes it a touch underpowered.
The TUV300 mHawk100, as the name suggests, will output 100 bhp. Though the engine will continue to be the 1.5-liter three-cylinder unit with 2-stage turbocharger, power and torque outputs are expected at 100 bhp and 240 Nm, similar to the recently-launched Mahindra NuvoSport. The TUV300 presently makes 84 bhp (81 bhp in case of AMT) and 230 Nm of torque.
The report states that aside from the 'mHawk100' badge on the fenders, there won't be any other distinguishable element on the more powerful TUV300. It will continue offering features of the top-end T8 variant which include alloy wheels, Bluetooth-enabled music system with steering-mounted controls, static-bending headlights, micro-hybrid system, rear parking sensors, ABS, EBD and dual front airbags.
