To make its world premiere on June 2.
The second generation Audi A5 was again spotted testing in its Sportback avatar in Mumbai, featuring no camouflage. The Audi A5 range will make its world premiere on June 2 in Germany.
From what we can tell, the Audi A5 will feature an evolutionary exterior styling influenced by the new A4. There are new Matrix LED headlamps, bigger hexagonal Singleframe grille, redesigned bumper, moulded spoiler on the liftgate and sleeker LED taillamps.
The new A5 will be based on the MLB Evo platform sourced from the new Audi A4. It is expected to be around 100 kg lighter than its predecessor, thus aiding in fuel efficiency as well as performance. As for the interior, there are very little details, although its likely to feature a simpler design inspired by the A4. It will get Audi's new MMI Touch as well as a Virtual Cockpit display inside.

Engine lineup will include four- and six-cylinder TFSI and TDI engines from the new A4, which can be paired to a 6-speed manual or an 8-speed automatic transmission. Top-end variants will be equipped with the Quattro all-wheel drive technology.
