Should go on sale by the end of the year.
Audi has announced that the second generation 2016 Audi A5 Coupe will be unveiled on June 2. To celebrate the introduction of the the new generation Audi A5 Coupe, Audi will present a 3D light show called “Audi Late Light Show” at the Audi Forum Ingolstadt for six consecutive evenings starting May 25.
Like the fifth generation 2016 Audi A4 (B9) from which it will be derived, the second generation 2016 Audi A5 Coupe will see an evolutionary redesign. What will be rather entirely new, will be it's underpinnings. The all-new A5 will be based on the MLB-Evo platform. The new generation A4, using the same platform, is up to 120 kg lighter than the previous generation A4. Similar weight reduction, of around 100 kg, is expected for the all-new A5.
The 2016 Audi A5 Coupe will likely be offered with the same TFSI petrol and TDI diesel engines from the A4. Transmission choices are expected to be 6-speed manual, 7-speed S tronic and 8-speed tiptronic. The next-gen S4 Coupe should sport the all-new S4's 354 PS (349 hp) 3.0-litre TFSI turbocharged V6 mill and 8-speed tiptronic transmission.
Latest Audi singleframe grille, Matrix LED headlamps, sequential turn indicators, Audi virtual cockpit fully digital instrument cluster, MMI navigation plus infotainment system with MMI touch and all such other signature features found in the latest compact Audi are expected to be offered in the A5 Coupe with the lifecycle change.
