Just weeks after the Tesla Model 3’s debut, Tesla has given a minor facelift to the Tesla Model S. Here’s how the new Tesla Model S compares with the old Tesla Model S.

Tesla Model S old vs. new comparision
The new front-end is inspired by that of the Tesla Model X.

Up front, the Tesla Model S has got a face similar to the Tesla Model X now. New nose, new headlights and a full body colour bumper round up the changes at the front. At the sides, the rocker panels are now body-coloured. Moving to the rear, darker areas in the taillamps differentiate the taillights from the side marker and the sides of the bumper are now body-coloured. Inside, the Tesla Model S now features the Tesla Model X’s Bioweapon Defense Mode HEPA air filtration system. Two new trim choices are available: Dark Ash Wood Décor and Figured Ash Wood Decor.

The capacity of the onboard charger has been updated from 40 amps previously to 48 amps. Four models are available: 70, 70D, 90D and P 90D. The Model S 70 is the only RWD model available, featuring a 70 kWh battery that provides a driving range of 234 miles (376 km), 0-60 mph (0-97 km/h) acceleration time of 5.5 seconds and a top speed of 140 mph (225 km/h). When specified with an all-wheel drive system, this model’s name changes to Model S 70D, and the driving range increases to 240 miles (386 km) while the 0-60 mph acceleration time reduces to 5.2 seconds.
