Launch expected to happen in June 2016.
A Tata Hexa test mule was spotted testing on the Pune-Satara highway, ahead of its expected launch in June 2016.
The Hexa is based on the outgoing Tata Aria’s platform, and measures 4,764 mm in length, 1,895 mm in width and 1,780 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,850 mm. Compared to its predecessor, the Hexa adopts a rugged exterior design with black plastic cladding and side sills, and is equipped with projector headlamps, signature LED DRLs and dual exhaust tailpipes.
The Tata Hexa will be the most feature-packed Tata yet, with equipment such as ESP (electronic stability program), projector headlamps with auto function, taillamps with LED position lamps, diamond-cut alloy wheels, 6-seat configuration with captain seats, infotainment system, leather upholstery with twin-needle stitching, mood lighting and 6 airbags.

Reports suggest that the Hexa could pack a sub-2.0L diesel engine, which could be a re-engineered version of the 2.2-litre VARICOR diesel engine. It is paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a 6-speed automatic was seen in the Hexa Tuff at the Auto Expo 2016. The Hexa also features a Drive Mode selector that offers four driving modes: Automatic, Comfort, Dynamic and Rough-Road.
