Following its first market launch in India last year, the Suzuki Baleno was launched in Japan last month. As Summer nears in Europe, the Japanese automaker is gearing up for more global launches of the car. Based on a press release from Euro Sumar, Suzuki's official importer and distributor in the country, domestic media is reporting that the Suzuki Baleno will likely be launched in Serbia along with rest of the Europe in Spring 2016 (March-May 2016).
The Serbian-spec Suzuki Baleno measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,745 mm in width and 1,470 mm (1,460 mm with SHVS) in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,520 mm. Two engine choices will be available. First is a 1.2-litre DUALJET four-cylinder petrol unit producing 66 kW (90 PS) and 120 Nm of torque, with a 5-speed manual or a continuously variable transmission. The second is the 82 kW (111 PS) 1.0-litre BOOSTERJET turbocharged petrol unit that delivers 160 Nm of torque when had with a 5-speed manual transmission or 170 Nm of torque when had with a 6-speed AT.
Noteworthy features of the Euro-spec Suzuki Baleno include SHVS (Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki) mild hybrid system option for the 1.2L DUALJET engine, Xenon headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED taillights, 16-inch alloy wheels, roof spoiler, adaptive cruise control system, Smartphone Linkage Display Audio infotainment system with a 7-inch display and Apple CarPlay smartphone integration capability for the infotainment system and Radar Brake Support (RBS), Electronic Stability Program (ESP) and six SRS airbags.
