Will feature crossover styling.
In response to the Renault Kwid's success in the Indian market, Hyundai is working on a rival (codenamed AH) that will launch in H2 2018, according to ET Auto.
No other technical details on the Hyundai AH exist at the moment. Given that the Kwid banked on its crossover styling and low price tag, Hyundai could also follow the same path with the AH. The report states that Hyundai is estimating a potential sales figure of 95,000 to 1,00,000 units per annum.
Currently, the only rival from Hyundai is the Eon hatchback, which hasn't received a facelift since its launch in 2011. It is available with a 814 cc three cylinder engine that outputs figures nearly similar to the Renault Kwid. The Eon is also available with a three-cylinder 1.0-liter engine with 69 PS of power at 6,200 rpm and 9.6 kgm of torque. The Hyundai AH is likely to source the two engines from the Eon.
