Will likely go on sale in late-2016.

The Renault Clio entered its fourth generation with a full redesign in 2012 and is due for a mid-life facelift this year. The new Renault Clio, expected to debut at the 2016 Paris Motor Show that will open for press on 29 September, will likely go on sale in late-2016. The facelifted model is currently being tested on public roads, as seen in this spyshot posted by Instagram user trlux.

Most exterior changes will likely be seen at the front.

The spyshot, showing the rear-end and profile of the car, doesn't reveal any changes. It's understandable that the rear-end is camouflaged but even then, most changes are expected at the front, as previewed in a recent rendering. The updated front fascia should incorporate new headlamps having design similar to those of the 2016 Renault Megane, C-shaped daytime running lights, four-slat upper grille, smaller lower grille, restyled bumper and squared foglamps with chrome trim above their housing.

Newly designed alloy wheels and tweaked taillamps round up other expected exterior changes. Interior changes may include new upholstery and trim, and incorporation of the latest R-Link 2 infotainment system.

The current engines and transmissions will likely continue being offered, but some minor performance and/or efficiency related improvements could be made. In its home market, France, Renault offers the Clio with 0.9- to 1.2-litre petrol and 1.5-litre diesel engine options and 5-speed manual and 6-speed Efficient Dual Clutch (EDC) transmission choices.
