Indian Autos Blog's Shoeb Kalania has rendered the production version of the TVS Akula 310 envisioning the possible changes from the racing concept. The sport bike is expected to launch towards the end of this calendar year.
The TVS Akula 310 Racing Concept had its premiere at the Auto Expo 2016 last month. It is the first fully faired motorcycle by TVS Motor Company that was unveiled commemorating 33 years of TVS Racing. The concept is built strictly for the circuit. The word 'Akula' means shark in Russian and the motorcycle has taken design inspiration from the fish including the nose structure and the tail cowl that resembles the dorsal fin of a shark which also improves aerodynamics.
The Akula features ultralight carbon fibre bodywork, lightweight hybrid trellis frame - steel chassis with an aluminium sub-frame, race-spec liquid-cooled four-valve DOHC powertrain, race dynamics, aerodynamic design, gill-inspired thermal management system, ram air induction, full-function all-digital speedometer, on board gyro cameras and a steering damper. The Akula 310 borrows the engine, fork, rear suspension and alloy wheels from the BMW G310R.

The rendering suggests that the Akula will have a twin headlamp, mirrors emerging from the fairing-head, turn indicators integrated into the RVMs, a highly similar bodywork but one that is not made of carbon fibre reinforced plastic, simple seats, toned down tail cowl design and exhaust canister borrowed from the BMW G310R. According to reports the production version will be unveiled in/around October.
