Reported to launch during the festive season.
Motor Octane reports that Tata has shortlisted three names for the Tata KITE 5 sedan: Tata Dribble, Tata Canvas and Tata Ingrid. The Tiago-based sedan is expected to launch during the festive season, and is the company's third sub-4m sedan, following the Tata Zest and Indigo eCS.
Unveiled at the Auto Expo 2016, the KITE 5 (codename) measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,647 mm in width, 1,535 mm in height and 2,450 mm in wheelbase. It rides on 15-inch alloy wheels and gets a 35 liter fuel tank.
The interior will be nearly identical to the Tata Tiago, save for a 5-inch entertainment system paired with an 8-speaker audio system and GPS-guided navigation. The KITE 5 will have a class-leading 420 liter boot.
The engine lineup will comprise of an all-new 1.2-litre Revotron three-cylinder petrol engine that produces 85 PS and 114 Nm of torque and a 1.05-litre Revotorq three-cylinder diesel engine (Tata has not announced the diesel engine’s power and torque outputs for the KITE 5). Both engines will get the Multi-Drive driving modes though (City and Eco driving modes).
