According to a report on CarAndBike, Toyota Kirloskar Motor (TKM) employees have bid farewell to the first generation Toyota Innova, with an image on the portal showing the last unit rolling out of the plant in Bidadi, Karnataka. This also confirms that the model will not be sold alongside the Toyota Innova Crysta.
The plant will be retooled to produce the Innova Crysta that will start production in the coming months. The model was unveiled for India at the Auto Expo 2016 and is set to launch later this year. The bookings for the second generation Innova are being unofficially taken at INR 50,000. The dealers who take the bookings promise delivery in May 2016.

The Toyota Innova was introduced in India in 2005 replacing the Toyota Qualis as a more premium offering. It has been one of the top selling MPVs ever since with an average sales of around 5,000 units per month lately. While cars like the Maruti Ertiga, Honda Mobilio and the Renault Lodgy are available as more affordable alternatives, only the Ertiga has managed to keep up with the Toyota.
