To launch in India next month.
The Himalayan Times reports that the Tata Tiago will go on sale by June-end in Nepal, following its market launch in India which will take place by the end of March 2016.
Previously called the Tata Zica, the name Tiago came about after Tata decided not to name their new offering after the deadly Zika virus. As a result, the launch of the Tata Zica for the Indian market did not take place as expected at the Auto Expo 2016.
The Tiago's engine lineup will include an all-new 1.2-litre three-cylinder Revotron petrol all-aluminium engine that produces 85 PS and 114 Nm, and an all-new 1.05-litre three-cylinder Revotorq diesel motor that generates 70 PS and 140 Nm. Both engines will initially come with five-speed manual gearboxes, while an AMT system will be introduced later.
