Following its image leak last week, here are 5 things we know about the Suzuki SX4 S-Cross facelift (Maruti S-Cross facelift):
1. Exterior design:
The front fascia of the S-Cross gets a massive redesign with new headlight enclosures and LED daytime running lights, a new grille element with vertical chrome slats and a new front bumper with redesigned foglight enclosures.
2. Interior design:
Based on the leaked image, it appears that designers have not drastically altered the interior of the S-Cross facelift. It continues to retain the pre-facelift model's layout, but is touted to get better finish, chrome detailing and new seat upholstery.
3. Debut at 2016 Geneva Motor Show:
The Suzuki SX4 S-Cross made its global premiere at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, and the facelifted model is expected to get a fitting reveal at the 2016 edition of the show, which opens its doors for the media on March 1, 2016.
4. Engine options:
In the European market, the S-Cross is available with Suzuki's 1.6-liter petrol engine and the Fiat-borrowed 1.6-liter DDiS diesel engine. Alongside these proven powertrains, the S-Cross facelift is expected to receive the brand's latest Boosterjet turbocharged petrol engine, available in displacements of 1.0- and 1.4-liters.
5. Arrives in European dealerships by mid-2016:
According to a report, the facelifted S-Cross will be available for deliveries in Europe starting June 2016. However, the updated model is not expected to launch in India this calendar year. The S-Cross was launched in India in mid-2015, and Maruti would take until 2017 to bring the facelifted model.
