To launch in this year's festival season.
Gaadiwaadi has managed to spot both the petrol and diesel variants of the upcoming Maruti Ignis testing in India. It is confirmed to launch in this year's festival season, and sold exclusively through NEXA dealerships.
Unveiled to the masses as the Maruti Ignis Concept at the Auto Expo 2016, the India-spec model will look identical to the model sold in Japan, save for a a chrome-rich grille and roof rails. It measures 3,700 mm long, 1,660 mm in wide, 1,595 mm in high, has a 2,435 mm long wheelbase and has a 180 mm high ground clearance.
The engine lineup for the Maruti Ignis has not been confirmed, yet. Reports suggest the petrol variant will be powered by the 1.2-liter K12B engine with VVT, while the diesel variant could pack the familiar 1.3-liter DDiS engine equipped with Suzuki's SHVS mild hybrid tech. A 5-speed manual will be standard in both models, and a CVT could be available for the petrol variant. Unlike the JDM-spec Ignis, it will not be available with a 4WD system.
