The Ignis wil be retailed through the NEXA outlets, Maruti confirmed.

Unveiled to the masses as the Maruti Ignis Concept at the Auto Expo 2016, the India-spec model will look identical to the model sold in Japan, save for a a chrome-rich grille and roof rails. It measures 3,700 mm long, 1,660 mm in wide, 1,595 mm in high, has a 2,435 mm long wheelbase and has a 180 mm high ground clearance.

The engine lineup for the Maruti Ignis has not been confirmed, yet. Reports suggest the petrol variant will be powered by the 1.2-liter K12B engine with VVT, while the diesel variant could pack the familiar 1.3-liter DDiS engine equipped with Suzuki’s SHVS mild hybrid tech. A 5-speed manual will be standard in both models, and a CVT could be available for the petrol variant. Unlike the JDM-spec Ignis, it will not be available with a 4WD system.
