First ever crossover from Jaguar.
Jaguar Land Rover India has unveiled the Jaguar F-Pace at the Auto Expo 2016 in Noida. The F-Pace will make its debut in India and serve as a niche sports crossover that rivals the Porsche Macan.
The exterior design of the Jaguar F-Pace is largely identical to the Jaguar C-X17 concept that was also showcased at the same venue in 2014. The model featured gets optional LED headlamps flanking Jaguar’s characteristic mesh grille, large air intakes and sleek LED taillamps similar to the Jaguar F-Type.
The Jaguar F-Pace is based on an all new iQ aluminum intensive platform, which also underpins the Jaguar XE and 2016 Jaguar XF, thus keeping the weight light for better handling and fuel efficiency. It uses the chassis tech from the Jaguar F-Type, including features like a torque vectoring system, and a feedback-rich EPS (electronic power steering).
The Jaguar F-Pace in other markets is available with JLR’s Ingenium lineup of efficient four-cylinder gasoline and diesel units, and a supercharged 3.0-liter V6 in the F-Pace S. Tranmission options include a 6-speed manual (for the Ingenium diesel option) and an 8 speed automatic gearbox for the rest of the range.
