2016 VW Polo, 2016 VW Vento launched in India – IAB Report

Gets rain sensing wipers, auto dimming IVRM, phone book/SMS viewer and touchscreen infotainment system.

Ahead of being displayed at the Auto Expo 2016 on January 3, VW India has launched the 2016 editions of the Polo and the Vento. Prices for the hatchback begin at Rs. 5.23 lakh and Rs. 7.70 lakh (both prices Ex-showroom, Mumbai).

The 2016 versions get no cosmetic and mechanical changes, but get a host of additions in equipment on the inside. Rain sensing wipers, auto dimming IVRM, phone book/SMS viewer, mirror link connectivity and a touch screen infotainment system are some of the additions. The upgraded hatchback and sedan are, the company announced, available at all VW dealerships in the country.

While exact prices for each variant haven’t been provided and the official website has not been updated, the 2016 VW Polo’s prices start at INR 5.23 lakh and go up to INR 8.73 lakh, while the 2016 VW Vento’s prices begin at Rs 7.70 lakh and extend up to Rs 11.90 lakh (All prices ex-showroom, Mumbai).

For the upcoming Auto Expo 2016, the German manufacturer will make the global reveal of its compact sedan for India, the VW Ameo. The Ameo has already been put into production and VW India is hoping that it creates records in its production numbers. Apart from this, the all-new VW Tiguan, VW Passat GTE and VW Polo GTI will be unveiled at the Expo.
