Will debut a new engine family for the brand.
PowerDrift has snapped the instrument cluster of the forthcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan, which is expected to launch on February 2, 2016. According to reports, there are likely to be two variants: One focussed for urban use and one for adventure touring.
The presence of the windshield suggests that the Himalayan in this spyshot is the off-road focussed version. The cluster itself is composed of three chrome-enclosed dials housing the speedometer, rev-counter and the fuel gauge.
The speedometer (which has readings for kmph and mph) gets a part digital display for the odometer and possibly a trip computer. A gear position indicator is also expected to be housed in this cluster. Spyshots have shown the Himalayan with mounting points for luggage and jerry-cans and an upswept exhaust, which will aid the motorcycle’s departure angle.
To recap, the Himalayan will be powered by an all-new 431 cc single-cylinder, oil-cooled engine which is reported to develop 30 bhp and 32 Nm of torque through a 5-speed gearbox. The engine will be a SOHC (Single Overhead Camshaft) reports have stated.
The motorcycle is expected with a price under INR 2 lakhs, ex-Showroom.
