Just days after Philippines, the second generation 2016 Toyota Fortuner has been launched in Indonesia, with a starting price of Rp. 442,000,000. The second generation 2016 Toyota HiLux-based all-new model is available in three trim levels, with two engines and in either rear-wheel drive or all-wheel drive drivetrain layout. In total, six configurations are offered in the South East Asian market with prices up to Rp. 631,500,000.
The G and VRZ trim levels are available with the new 2.4-litre 2GD-FTV diesel engine that produces 149.6 PS (148 hp) and 40.8 kg-m (400 Nm) of torque. In G trim, this engine can be had in rear-wheel drive with 6-speed automatic transmission/6-speed manual transmission or in all-wheel drive with 6-speed automatic transmission. In VRZ trim, this engine can be had in rear-wheel drive with 6-speed automatic transmission or in all-wheel drive with 6-speed automatic transmission.
There's also a 2.7-litre Dual VVTi petrol engine that produces 163 PS (161 hp) and 24.7 kg-m (242 Nm) of torque. It's available exclusively in rear-wheel drive with a 6-speed automatic transmission, and only in SRZ trim. The Thai-spec 2016 Toyota Fortuner is available with a new 2.8-litre 1GD-FTV diesel engine also. It produces 177 PS (175 hp) and 450 Nm of torque.
The entry-level 2016 Toyota Fortuner 2.4 G 4X2 MT comes with standard features like projector halogen headlamps with Follow Me Home function, 17-inch alloy wheels, rear spoiler, tilt and telescoping steering with switches to control audio, phone call, voice recognition and MID (Multi Information Display) functions, three drive modes (Eco, Normal & Power) and reversing camera.
