The wheelbase is reported to be 55 mm longer than the outgoing model (W212)

The next gen luxury sedan is claimed feature an “all-new design that is much more beautiful and modern, and much cleaner than even the C-Class and S-Class”. The wheelbase is reported to be 55 mm longer than the outgoing model, while the overhangs are shortened so that the overall length is similar to the outgoing model.

The interior has been revealed by Mercedes, which combines design cues borrowed from the Mercedes S Class and C Class, and is an evolutionary upgrade over the aging, button-infested design of the outgoing model. It gets optional 12.1 inch displays for the driver and the COMAND infotainment system, four round air vents in the center, flowing dashboard design, Burmester audio system and ambient lighting.

While the regular Mercedes-Benz models will have a 9-speed 9G-TRONIC gearbox, the Mercedes-AMG E 63 is likely to get the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7 speed DCT.
