To make digital debut in the coming days.
A 2016 Mercedes E Class (W213) prototype was spotted testing by IAB reader Rohan Dhanraj in Dubai. The new E Class will make its digital debut in the coming days, ahead of its motorshow premiere at the 2016 Detroit Motor Show next week (January 11).
The next gen luxury sedan is claimed feature an “all-new design that is much more beautiful and modern, and much cleaner than even the C-Class and S-Class”. The wheelbase is reported to be 55 mm longer than the outgoing model, while the overhangs are shortened so that the overall length is similar to the outgoing model.
The interior has been revealed by Mercedes, which combines design cues borrowed from the Mercedes S Class and C Class, and is an evolutionary upgrade over the aging, button-infested design of the outgoing model. It gets optional 12.1 inch displays for the driver and the COMAND infotainment system, four round air vents in the center, flowing dashboard design, Burmester audio system and ambient lighting.

Reports firmly believe that it will be offered with a lineup of 2.0-liter four cylinder petrol and diesel engines, 3.0-liter in-line six cylinder petrol and diesel units and a 4.0-liter twin turbo V8 option in the top-end AMG variant. While the regular Mercedes-Benz models will have a 9-speed 9G-TRONIC gearbox, the Mercedes-AMG E 63 is likely to get the AMG SPEEDSHIFT 7 speed DCT.
