To be revealed at Auto Expo 2016.
Team BHP has posted this spyshot of what is reportedly VW India's compact sedan (codename: VW ICS) which could be called the VW Ameo when launched. The spyshot reveals a few interesting details on VW's Maruti Dzire-rival.
First up, the overall design of the compact sedan appears to follow the lines of the Vento. The boot appears visibly short, and the rear headrests appear to be of the fixed type in order to cut costs. The L-shaped brake lights are reminiscent of the VW Polo, with which the compact sedan will share platforms.
From the spyshot, its clear to see that the VW Ameo will get beige interiors, similar to the Vento. The compact sedan is expected to borrow its dashboard and parts from the Polo, not to mention the engines. The lineup will include the 1.2-liter three-cylinder MPi petrol and the 1.5-liter four-cylinder TDI diesel, paired to 5-speed manual transmissions. Additionally, VW could also offer its 7-speed DSG on the diesel, or with the more powerful 1.2-liter TSI petrol.
