Expected to launch at the Auto Expo 2016.
Carwale has posted a couple of spyshots of the Mahindra Quanto facelift (rumored to be called Mahindra Canto), which is equipped with an Automated Manual Transmission (AMT). This is likely to be the 5-speed unit sourced from the Mahindra TUV300.
Expected to launch at the Auto Expo 2016 in February, the Mahindra Canto AMT features a shifter similar to that of the Mahindra Quanto autoSHIFT showcased at the Auto Expo 2014. The interior is finished in beige, comes with a newer multifunction steering wheel, black center console, an armrest and new dials for the instrument cluster.
The exterior will lose the Xylo-inspired MPV looks for a design that looks closer to an SUV, with new headlights and daytime running lights, new grille and hood scoop and front bumper and revised taillamps. As for engine power, Mahindra could replace the 1.5-liter mCR100 diesel engine with the more fuel efficient mHawk80 diesel engine found in the TUV300. In its boxy cousin, the mHawk 80 engine develops 84 hp and 230 Nm of torque.
