According to a report from iOtomotif, Toyota Astra Motor (Toyota Indonesia) has received almost 10,000 bookings for the second generation 2016 Toyota Innova, since it was launched on November 23. Currently, the new Innova is only available for sale in Indonesia.
Prices for the new Innova range between Rp. 282 million (INR 13.59 lakhs) to Rp. 423.8 million (INR 20.43 lakhs), and is sold in three trim levels: G, V and Q. A report stated that the plant in Indonesia produces one Innova every 90 seconds. The company expects to sell between 1,000-1,500 units of the new Innova per month.
The new Innova measures 4,735 mm in length, 1,830 mm in width, 1,795 mm in height and 2,750 mm in wheelbase. One of the biggest changes is the all new downsized 2.4-liter GD diesel engine, which is paired to either a 5-speed manual or a 6-speed automatic transmission. Customers seeking a petrol option get a 2.0-liter VVT-i petrol engine with the same transmission options as the diesel variant.
As for the Indian market, reports suggest that the car, which is in the testing stage, will launch next year, and will be produced at TKM’s plant in Bidadi, Karnataka.
