AMT now available on the lowest Celerio LXi variant.
Following the herd in providing ABS and airbags as an option in lower-end variants, the country's largest passenger car manufacturer today announced that the Maruti Celerio will get ABS and airbags as options across all variants. Last week Maruti announced that the Swift and Dzire have the same optional safety features across the lineup.
Along with the announcement, the company also made a mention that the AMT gearbox - termed Auto Gear Shift (AGS) by Maruti Suzuki - will also extend to the LXi range, making the Celerio the only car in its segment to have AMT as an option across all variants.
With over 1.3 lakh units of the hatchback being sold, Maruti has increasingly begun to treat the Celerio as its test bed for features. Having debuted its AGS gearbox at the launch of the Celerio, Maruti Suzuki then added its first in-house diesel engine to the lineup, shortly following with a CNG model - making the Celerio the only model in its range to be powered by three fuels.
