China is expected to be the F-Pace’s biggest market.
The Jaguar F-Pace has been snapped with partial camouflage in China, sporting the ‘Italian Racing Red’ body colour. The company’s first ever crossover world premiered at the 2015 Frankfurt Motor Show in mid-September and will be built at the Solihull plant from the coming weeks.
Featuring an exterior design identical to that of the Jaguar C-X17 concept, the Jaguar F-Pace gets the company’s typical mesh grille, large air intakes, optional LED head lamps and slender LED tail lamps that is reminiscent of the Jaguar F-Type.
Despite being an SUV, the Jaguar F-Pace is being developed to have more mettle on tarmac than off-road, featuring the chassis technology inspired by the Jaguar F-Type. The SUV is based on the company’s all-new iQ aluminium intensive platform that also underpins the Jaguar XE and the 2016 Jaguar XF.
The F-Pace is reported to be more of a high-stance Jag that handles as effortlessly as the company’s executive sedans. It will be offered with features such as a torque vectoring system and an EPS (Electronic Power Steering) and in-car features like InControl touch system for infotainment, Meridian audio system and Head-Up display.
The crossover will be available globally with the 2.0-litre four-cylinder Ingenium diesel engine, which the company claims to deliver 24.55 km/l (57.7 mpg) of mileage and 129 g/km of CO2 emissions, in the UK driving cycle. China being a gasoline market, the F-Pace would launch with the 3.0 litre V6 Supercharged petrol engine, that is available in 340 PS and 380 PS configurations.
