Expected to launch in India by the second half of 2016.
Jaguar has showcased the F-Pace, its first-ever crossover at the 2015 Tokyo Motor Show. The car will be seen in UK showrooms by early-2016 and is expected to come to India in the second half of 2016.
The car is based on the all-new iQ aluminium intensive platform that helps in keeping the weight light, thus enhancing the dynamism of the car. The F-Pace is developed to offer on-road performance rather than off-road ability; so as to not create conflict with the SUVs from its sister Land Rover brand.
The F-Pace has an imposing stance with the mesh grille, large air intakes and sleek headlamps that add a touch of aggression to the exterior. It has borrowed some sporty elements from the F-Type sports car which includes torque vectoring and Electronic Power Steering (EPS).
There will be several engines powering the F-Pace. The base engine will be a 2.0-liter four-cylinder diesel producing 180 PS. This unit will come with rear-wheel drive only and the choice of automatic and manual transmissions. There is also a bigger 3.0-liter V6 diesel having an output of 300 PS. The petrol range starts with a 2.0-liter petrol unit generating 240 PS with the top-end variants getting a 3.0-liter V6 available in tunes of 340 PS and 380 PS. The six cylinder versions come with automatic gearbox and all-wheel drive as standard.
