Will debut a new petrol engine.
Recent spyshots have shown the Mahindra S101 (what would be called the Mahindra XUV100 reportedly) with a chrome-embellished 6-point grille, and Indian Autos Blog's artist, Shoeb Kalania, has incorporated the new grille into his earlier rendering of the S101.
The XUV100 will be based on an all-new monocoque front wheel drive platform, and is expected to launch this financial year. It will be powered by three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines paired to a 5-speed manual or automated manual transmission (AMT). The petrol engine, a 1.2-liter unit, will have its debut on the XUV100. The diesel variant on the other hand, could source the mHawk 80 1.5-liter engine from the TUV300.
According to recent reports, the XUV100 will target the Maruti Wagon R primarily, which sells roughly 14,100 units each month. Reports are also suggestive that the XUV100 will have a starting price of INR 4 lakhs, ex-Showroom.
