Expected to cost under INR 10 lakhs when launched.
Ahead of its planned launch on October 19, TeamFiat has images of the Fiat Abarth Punto, in its White shade. According to a leaked presentation, the Abarth Punto will be available in two colors - Black and White - though both will receive racing stripes, decals, Scorpion logos and contrast wing mirror caps.
To recap, the Abarth Punto is powered by a 1.4-liter T-Jet turbocharged petrol engine capable of 145 hp and 212 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual gearbox. Fiat India claims the Abarth Punto is the quickest hatchback in its segment with 0-100 km/h taking only 8.8 seconds. The fuel efficiency is rated at 16.3 km/l.
The Abarth Punto, likely to be offered in a single variant, gets disc brakes on all wheels as standard. Safety features like ABS, EBD and dual airbags are also a given. The Abarth Punto will also get larger 16-inch Scorpion alloy wheels, and a lower ride height to aid in better handling.
Dealerships of FCA India have started accepting bookings for the Abarth Punto for INR 50,000. According to reports, the car is expected to cost under INR 10 lakhs, ex-Showroom, when launched. Post the launch of the Abarth Punto, FCA India will also launch the Avventura Powered by Abarth.
