Cruiser tweaked for the streets.
The Bajaj Avenger 220 Street was launched today at an ex-showroom New Delhi price of INR 84,000. It is one of three Avenger models launched today and is touted as a cruiser type street fighter.
The salient features on the 220 Street include a new white hue headlamp, clear lens turn indicators, a pair of black rubber bellows over the inner tubes of the fork, 12-spoke 17-inch black coloured alloy wheel upfront, 9-spoke 15-inch black coated alloy wheel at the rear, new cover for engine oil cooler finished in black and a new Avenger logo on the fuel tank.
Other design highlights include an Avenger lettering on the handlebar clamp, new lower and flatter handlebar design for comfort during city riding, new instrument cluster design with a dark theme and an LCD for odo and trip readings, new body graphics featuring red streaks, new foot peg design, new exhaust can design with black coating, contoured seats, and a new detail on the black grab-rail at the rear.
The Avenger 220 Street is powered by the same 220 cc single-cylinder DTS-i engine with an oil-cooler and a 5-speed gearbox seen on the outgoing model. It features the same output, of 19.03 PS at 8,400 rpm and 17.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm.
