The 220 Cruise variant of the 2016 Bajaj Avenger has been launched at INR 84,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). It has been launched alongside the 220 Street variant which features a full black theme, and a 150 Street.
The highlights of the new Avenger 220 Cruise include new insignia and graphics, extensive chrome detailing, new analog-digital instrument cluster, new handlebar, large windscreen, a new exhaust pipe, low-slung seating, long wheelbase, and a wider rear tyre.
The technical specifications of the 2016 Avenger 220 Cruise state 2,177 mm of overall length, 806 mm of width, 1,142 mm of height, 1,490 mm of wheelbase, 169 mm of ground clearance, 155 kg in kerb weight, 14 litres fuel tank capacity, a 260 mm front disc brake, 130 mm rear drum brake, 90/90-17 front tyre and 130/90-15 rear tyre.
The Bajaj Avenger 220 Cruise is propelled by the same 220 cc single-cylinder DTS-i engine with an oil-cooler that was featured on the outgoing model. The power and torque outputs are retained, at 19.03 PS at 8,400 rpm and 17.5 Nm at 7,000 rpm. The 5-speed transmission is also unchanged.
With a three-product range of the Avenger brand, Bajaj Auto says it has increased production from 5,000 units a month to 20,000 units a month. The company also announced that 'significant investment' was made for tooling and increasing production for these bikes.
