Bookings underway.
Fiat Moto Club have obtained the specifications of the forthcoming Abarth Punto, which is confirmed for a launch next month.
As reported earlier, the Abarth Punto will be powered by a 1.4-liter T-Jet four-cylinder petrol engine capable of 145 hp and 212 Nm of torque, giving it class-leading figures. This will enable it to do 0-100 km/h in 8.8 seconds and 0-1000 m in 30.4 seconds. It'll have a fuel efficiency of 16.3 km/l.
Fiat will launch the Abarth Punto in two colors - Black and White. Both shades will get Abarth decals, contrasting wing mirror caps, a racing stripe and a Scorpion logo on the roof. Additionally, 16-inch 'Scorpion Sting' alloys will be seen on the performance hatch.
Other features of the Abarth Punto will include disc brakes on all wheels, aluminium pedals, an 'Abarth' instrument cluster, black upholstery with red and yellow stitching, lowered suspension (ground clearance is now 155 mm) and other features already available on the Emotion variant of the Punto Evo.
Dealers of FCA India have started accepting bookings for the Abarth Punto, for a sum of INR 50,000, and prices are expected a shade under INR 10 lakhs, ex-Showroom. Unlike the Abarth 595 which is imported, the Abarth Punto will be made at the Ranjangaon plant in Maharashtra.
