Facelifted model made its debut at the 2015 New York Auto Show.
Carscoops reader, Mr Anthony, has spotted the 2016 Toyota RAV4 and 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid in Los Angeles. The facelifted model had premiered at the 2015 New York Auto Show, and is expected to reach U.S showrooms this fall.
The mid-cycle facelift for the Toyota RAV4 is comprehensive, with changes like new LED headlamps and DRLs that flow into the smaller upper grille, a re-designed bumper set with a new radiator grille design, and LED taillights, updated lift gate design and new reflectors.
Toyota says it has improved the interior by adding more premium materials and interior colors. It comes with a 4.2-inch TFT multi-information display in an updated instrument cluster, a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment display, and a leather-wrapped steering wheel. The 2016 Toyota RAV4 also comes with a new Bird’s Eye View Monitor, which gives the driver a panoramic view of the car’s surroundings using four strategically-placed cameras.
The RAV4 will also feature the Toyota Safety Sense (TSS) package, which combines features like Pre-Collision System, Forward Collision Warning, Lane Departure Alert, Automatic High Beams, Pedestrian Pre-Collision System and Dynamic Radar Cruise Control.
2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
The 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid will be offered in two premium trims, XLE and Limited, both featuring an Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel-Drive System (AWD-i). Powering the hybrid variant is a 2.5-liter Atkinson-cycle 4-cylinder engine and a duo of electric motors for the axles.

The hybrid drivetrain sends power through a continuously variable transmission (CVT). Toyota have still not released official figures, although they claim that it is more powerful and delivers quicker acceleration and higher mileage than conventional RAV4s.
