Cosmetic changes are expected to be market specific.

According to a report on Motoring World, Renault India plans on launching the Duster facelift along with an automatic transmission later this year. The publication reveals that the French car maker will introduce an India-specific facelift, and not the Euro-spec facelift which was revealed at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show.

The Duster Adventure Edition will inspire the look of the Duster facelift for India.

The Duster facelift for the Indian market, according to the report, will resemble the Duster Adventure Edition closely, with smoked wheels, redesigned body cladding with additional lights and silver skid plates for the front and rear. The highlight on the Duster facelift will be the addition of an automatic transmission variant.

The report states that Renault will offer its 6-speed dual clutch transmission, called the EDC (Efficient Dual Clutch) on the 2WD diesel variant of the Duster. The Duster AT will rival the recently-launched Creta AT, which gets a conventional 6-speed automatic transmission, and the soon-to-launch Mahindra Scorpio AT.

Other mechanicals of the Duster are expected to continue unchanged. The Indian market sees the crossover powered by a 1.6-liter petrol engine and a 1.5-liter dCi diesel engine offered in two states of tunes. The 1.5-liter diesel can also be paired with a 4WD system, while its closest rival, the Creta comes only with front-wheel drive.

AT version in the duster will make it more desirable since people are more interested in it and probably it will be the best decision renault will ever make. Facelift+AT, this will be a great launch. When can we expect this facelifted duster to be launched in India?

  2. Anand says:

Along with AT, Duster upgrade should have Capster like ‘dashboard’ and will be a good option to compete with new enterants.. I don’t see any other features are missing in duster. Has good engine, decent space, bold body design … etc

When is Renault Duster Diesel Automatic being
Planned for launch… Please LAUNCH soon… There is immense interest in
Automatic and Hyundai Creta has reported over 30% bookings of Automatic version
and they have made changes in their production plans accordingly, infact they
were much surprised by the automatic requirement, having expected only 10% of
the total bookings.. It means of the 15000 bookings Hyundai Creta has received
4500 bookings are for Automatic itself, which is a significant number and
    completely new oppurtunity ….

Good news. Creta AT is priced high and this would be my next car if they price it with less than 1 lakh premium then non AT model.
