Likely to continue using the 2.0L diesel engine with an 8AT.
The 2015 BMW 3 Series (facelift), which was revealed in Germany in May this year, has already landed in India for testing purposes, ahead of a launch confirmed to take place this year. The 3 Series LCI is one of 15 launches planned by BMW India this year, Mr. Philipp von Sahr, president of BMW India, told Indian Autos Blog.
The 2015 3 Series gets new aprons with revised air intakes up front, while the rear sees minor changes to the bumper. Further, LED headlights can now be fitted as an option, while the taillight clusters sport LED elements as standard.
Changes inside, like the exterior, are subtle as well. Chrome highlights for the AC vents and center console, and a new sliding cover for the cupholders are the only notable differences between the current 3 Series and the facelift.
Mechanically, the 3 Series facelift is announced to get a stiffened-up suspension and an even more 'precise' steering, while the 3 Series LCI specific to Europe also receives a 1.5-liter three-cylinder petrol engine.

For the Indian market though, BMW would continue to offer the 2.0-liter four-cylinder TwinPower Turbo engine which is capable of 184 hp and 380 Nm of torque, and is paired to an 8-speed automatic transmission. Localization levels on models like the 3 Series were upped to nearly 50 percent in India, and as a result, prices of the sedan were slashed by INR 1 lakh.
