Tata Safari Storme facelift launched at INR 9.99 lakhs – IAB Report

Gets an improved diesel engine among other changes.

Tata Motors has updated its website with images, details and prices of the 2015 Tata Safari Storme (facelift). Here’s a quick recap of the changes on the SUV.

Exterior changes are focussed entirely on the grille of the SUV.

The Safari Storme facelift gets a new honeycomb grille “inspired by premium international SUV brands”, say Tata Motors. Inside, the SUV gets the new 3-spoke short diameter steering wheel with integrated music controls from the Tata Zest.

The center console receives silver accents and a new Harman ConnectNext infotainment system with 6-speakers, Speed Dependent Volume Control, Bluetooth Hands Free, Phone Book Download, Audio Streaming and Reverse Parking Sensor Display. Tata has also updated the seat fabrics to a ‘Java Black’ color.

On the performance front, the Safari Storme facelift continues with the 2.2-liter four-cylinder VariCOR diesel engine, but in a higher state of tune of 150 PS and 320 Nm of torque, paired to a 5-speed manual transmission.

A spyshot last month revealed that Tata Motors is working on an automatic transmission for the Safari Storme. Until then, the SUV will be solely available with a 5MT with 2WD or optional 4WD on the top-end variant.

    I agree with Mudit Srivastava, and Mahindra more advance in design and engineering to Tata. They are can’t reading Indian car buyers mood. Tata sumo 21 yrs, Safari 17 yrs and Indica Indigo 17 13 yrs old. How cuuld you find buyer or costumer. Other hand see the Honda City 17 yrs old. But it is 4th or 5th generation Honda city.
