Aims to topple the Toyota Aqua which boasts of a 37 km/l efficiency.
While the Indian market is yet to receive the new third generation Honda Jazz, the Japanese major has started working on a facelift for the B-Segment hatchback which was launched in Japan in September 2013.
According to CarSensor, Honda is unlikely to drastically alter the design of the Jazz, which is sold as the Fit in the Japanese market. The interesting news is that Honda aims to reclaim the crown of the most fuel efficient hybrid passenger car with the Jazz facelift.
At present, the Jazz Hybrid (Fit Hybrid) fitted with a front-wheel drive system and Honda's i-DCD (intelligent dual-clutch drive) 7-speed transmission claims 36.4 km/l under the Japanese JC08 test. At the time of its launch in 2013, the Jazz Hybrid stole the fuel economy title from the Toyota Aqua hybrid. Since, Toyota introduced several friction reduction technologies on the Aqua, which is presently Japan's most economical hybrid car at 37 km/l. Honda will be gunning for this target with the Jazz facelift.

Cosmetic revisions, as seen in this rendering, will extend to the bumpers and headlights, which could be upgraded to LED units. Honda already offers LED headlights on the Grace (Honda City in Japan), which is nothing but the sedan version of the Jazz.
