Expected in India in the next financial year.
Seen here is another leaked image showing the side profile of the 2016 Toyota Fortuner, which is expected to have its world premiere in Thailand on July 28, 2015.
The new Fortuner is expected to be based on the new Hilux Revo, which made its global premiere in Thailand last month. Riding on a new ladder-frame chassis, the next generation Fortuner would come with increased safety levels including 7 airbags (the current model is offered only with dual front airbags, even on the top-end variant).
Powering the 2016 Fortuner will be Toyota's new range of 'GD' diesel engines, which include four-cylinder 2.4- and 2.8-liter units. These newly-developed engines are paired to 6-speed manual and automatic transmissions, and on the Hilux, are 10 percent more fuel efficient.
Inside, the SUV will borrow its cabin from the pickup, which gets a new multifunction steering wheel, a free-standing infotainment display, automatic climate control and an optional leather seating package.

The new Fortuner for the Indian market is expected in the next financial year (post March 2016). It will continue to be assembled in Karnataka, but TKM (Toyota Kirloskar Motor) could also manufacture the engines at its upcoming engine manufacturing facility near Jigani, Karnataka.
