Comes in three variants.
The Eicher-Polaris Flexituff is being reported by Motorbeam to come in three variants - hard top, soft top, and an open top. While the vehicle is said to be for transport of goods, the hard top variant, leaked by the website, is a passenger-carrier.
The Flexituff is said to target agricultural applications and small city-based operations. Powered by a simple 600 cc diesel engine sourced from Greaves Cotton, the Flexituff's three variants should have a payload of between 300 kg and 400 kg, and on paper, compete with the Tata Magic Iris and the Mahindra Gio.
The passenger carrying variant equipped with a hard top is taller than the other two versions and comes with doors fitted as standard. The leaked patent images posted by the site show that the other the soft top variant comes with no doors.
The Flexituff is set to roll out from Eicher's manufacturing facility in Jaipur. The factory has the capacity to produce 10,000 to 12,000 vehicles a year. A total of INR 250 crore has been invested in the development of this small commercial vehicle.
