Would get the 1.8L i-VTEC in addition to the VTEC Turbo engine.
10thcivicforum has rendered the front and rear fascias of the forthcoming 2016 Honda Civic. Previewed by a concept at the New York Auto Show last month, Honda is expected to show the production model of its popular nameplate towards the second half of this year. An American launch is slated to happen in the September-December period.
While previous reports have mentioned that the new Civic will come with Honda's 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine, the forum states that the sedan would also be offered with the tried-and-tested 1.8-liter i-VTEC engine which is seen on the current model. A 6-speed manual or a CVT will be the gearboxes of choice.
For the Old Continent, the 2016 Civic will continue to come with the 1.6-liter i-DTEC diesel engine in addition to the petrol motor. The transmission could be upgraded to the 9-speed unit however.
The forum also reports that the forthcoming Civic will see integration of Apple CarPlay or Android Auto technologies for better connectivity options. Also, the i-MID (intelligent multi-information display) system is expected to receive a larger screen, and be more intuitive to use.
