Honda's 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine will power the new Civic.
Brazilian publication CarPlace has rendered almost all angles of the forthcoming 2016 Honda Civic sedan, ahead of its launch expected to take place in the American market towards the fall of this year (September-December period).
Honda revealed the Civic concept at the New York Auto Show last month, and confirmed that the tenth generation of the popular nameplate will continue to be made in sedan, coupe and hatchback bodystyles, the latter having gained more popularity.
For the North American market, the 2016 Civic will be powered by a 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine with direct injection, while the transmission is expected to be a 6-speed manual or a CVT.
For the European market, Honda will no doubt offer a petrol and a diesel engine, which will be the firm's 1.6-liter four-cylinder i-DTEC unit. The diesel's automatic transmission could be the 9-speed transmission like in the CR-V facelift.

Honda Cars India pulled the plug on the Civic after the eighth generation model. Not having a diesel variant, and a shrinking executive sedan segment meant that the Civic was no longer feasible to be assembled at the company's Greater Noida facility. As of now, the company has not spoken about re-entering the Civic segment.
