Featured model previews striking copper exterior shade.
An undisguised pre-production unit of the second generation Ford Figo has been spotted in the wild, featuring a new copper exterior shade.
Judging by the body-colored side view mirrors with turn indicators, fog lamps, chrome-detailed grille, alloy rims and roof spoiler, we're guessing that the featured model is the top spec Titanium variant. Like the recently unveiled Figo Aspire sub-4m sedan, the design follows Ford's latest design philosophy that is highlighted by the Aston Martin-esque grille, swept-back headlamps, and a shapely bonnet.
Compared to the outgoing model, the new Figo is a departure in terms of exterior design. It loses the entry-level budget looks for a more premium approach. It also appears bigger, promising better road presence.
Speaking of the interior, the design will be identical to that of the Figo Aspire, which is derived from the EcoSport and Fiesta. It will be offered with Ford's SYNC multimedia system, which is a segment-first, as well as better safety features like side curtain airbags and seat airbags (apart from the usual driver and passenger airbags).
The engine lineup will include a 85 PS 1.2-liter TI-VCT petrol engine paired to a 5-speed manual and a possible dual-clutch automatic unit, as well as a 1.5-litre TDCi diesel-powered unit with a 5-speed manual only.

Ford will launch the Figo hatchback soon after the market launch of the Figo Aspire sedan. Both cars will be manufactured at Ford's all new plant in Sanand, Gujarat. Ford South Africa will receive the India-made Figo and Figo sedan at the end of the year, and its Indian launch can be anticipated around that time for the hatch.
