Likely to feature minimal changes.

Although it hasn’t been confirmed, it wouldn’t be a surprise if Audi are now working on a facelift for the A3 range, given that the current generation was introduced in 2012.

If the Germans are working on a facelift, expect it to feature minimal changes.

Like with other sedans, the A3 facelift will feature minimal changes; much like the new Audi A6 and A7. The headlights and taillights could get new LED layouts, while the 6-point grille and bumpers may undergo a slight redesign.

Similar to the exterior, the interior could also get small updates in the form of a new Audi MMI infotainment system and a tweaked interior design. As it is based on the MQB Platform, the A3 could also have the provision to accommodate the TT’s Virtual Cockpit.

According to reports, the next A3 could pack a 1.0-liter 3-cylinder from the A1 and VW Golf, apart from the current engine lineup. Another reported engine option is the 1.8 TFSI with the ‘Active Cylinder Technology’ that deactivates cylinders when not needed.
