Autocar India has reported that the VW Cross Polo will be updated by the end of the year. While details are scant, the report says that 16-inch alloy wheels and more features will be added to the 2015 VW Cross Polo. Some styling cues from the updated European Cross Polo that debuted at the Geneva Motor Show last year could also be inherited by the Indian model.
Launched in 2013, the Cross Polo got its first round of updates in August last year when the Polo hatchback was refreshed. In the update, exterior changes came via the new headlamps with cornering lights and mildly tweaked taillamps. The 2014 VW Cross Polo continued with the pre-facelift's bumpers, skid guards, grille and alloy wheels.
On the interior, the changes were a new three-spoke multifunction steering wheel, a new instrument cluster with updated MID, lighting and graphics, silver insert on the console, a full-black dashboard and black seats with white stitching.
The 2014 Cross Polo was powered by the new 1.5-liter four-cylinder diesel engine producing 90 bhp and 230 Nm, paired to a five-speed manual gearbox. The ARAI certified fuel efficiency stands at 20.14 km/l. The 1.5-liter motor replaced the 1.2-liter three-cylinder mill across the range.
In January 2015, VW India included a petrol engine option on the Cross Polo. It features the same 1.2-liter three-cylinder petrol engine seen on the regular Polo with outputs at 74 bhp and 110 Nm, and is paired to a 5-speed manual transmission. Its ARAI rated efficiency is 16.47 km/l.

Given that there is a single trim level in the Cross Polo range, as standard the vehicle has ABS brakes, dual front airbags, alloy wheels, roof rails, padded-up bumpers, skid guard, body cladding and a different grille design. In the cabin, features include a music system with CD/MP3/Radio/AUX-in, auto climate control system, multifunction steering, and front and rear power windows.
