Expected to launch in India by the end of this year.
An Indian Autos Blog reader snapped these images of the second generation 2015 Audi Q7 on test in Gujarat recently. Based on the new MLB platform, Audi's new flagship SUV is expected to go on sale in India by the end of this year.
The model spotted here is the TDI version, which is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 diesel engine good for 272 hp and 600 Nm of torque. The drive is transmitted to all wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission and Audi's Quattro all-wheel drive system.
Thanks to a massive 325 kg weight loss, the new Q7 TDI accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 6.3 seconds as against the current model's 7.8 seconds. Apart from being quicker, the new Q7 TDI is also 26 percent more efficient than its predecessor, and comes with better road-holding capabilities owing to a low center of mass.
Coming to the technology on offer, the new Q7 is equipped with Audi's Matrix LED lighting system, dynamic turn signals, a Virtual Cockpit with the advanced MMI system with touchpad interface and LED taillights.

Like the current Q7, Audi India will continue assembling the SUV at its Aurangabad facility from CKD kits. The initial batch for India (usually branded 'Launch edition') could be imported through the CBU route.
